Thanks for the ping. I admire your willingness to stand firm in your beliefs. I noticed you want to visit Jerusalem--I was lucky enough to go there 12 years ago. We do read some of the same authors--since you are interested in Judaism, I recommend "Skeletons At the Feast" by Chris Bohjalian which is A WWII novel set in Germany but it is not your standard war novel--I think it is fantastic.
